Abstract

The present invention relates to a 3-aryl-4 catechol-pyrrole-n-propanol compound and the derivatives thereof having General Formula (I), wherein:—R1 is an aryl group, particularly a phenyl, optionally substituted by one or more (C1-C2)alkyl groups, one or more halogens, one or more —OH, —CN or CF3 groups, or a combination of same, and—R2 is a (C1-C6)alkyl group, a hydroxy(C1-C6)alkyl group, a (C1-C4)alcoxy(C1-C6)alkyl group, or a pharmaceutically acceptable hydrate or solvate of same. The invention also relates to the methods for preparing said compound and derivatives, to the pharmaceutical compositions containing same, and to the use of same as a drug or in the form of a prodrug converted via dimerization, particularly via oxidative coupling in the presence of a superoxide anion, in the treatment of cancer and diseases related to excessive angiogenesis.
