Abstract
This invention relates to a device mounted on the surface of a vehicle for securing one or more items to the vehicle. The device includes an upper housing made of relatively hard material and a bottom part made of flexible, relatively soft material having a bottom surface and a top surface. The bottom part is capable of shifting its configuration between a disengaged configuration, wherein the bottom surface of the bottom part is essentially planar, and an engaged configuration, wherein the bottom surface of the bottom part is concave. An upper housing includes an actuator means for actuating the bottom part to shift the configuration of the bottom part between the disengaged and the engaged configurations. The actuator means keeps the bottom part in the engaged configuration until being disengaged. The upper housing includes one or more holes for securing one or more items to the vehicle.
