Abstract

A method is provided for configuring a drying device in a printing machine, in particular in a value document printing machine. The printing machine has at least one printing unit which comprises an imaging cylinder having a plurality of imaging printing elements or groups of imaging printing elements which are arranged in rows and columns on its circumference. A drying device has a dryer, by which print material, passing through the dryer, is subject to radiation. The drying device is configured for ongoing or upcoming production in such a way that the print material passing through the dryer, in order to be dried, is subjected to radiation in a plurality of tracks spaced from each other by non-irradiated tracks according to the same switch-on and switch-off sequence extending over cycle length.
