Provided herein are methods for antagonizing the action of an α4-integrin to treat various pathophysiological conditions utilizing pharmaceutical compositions of compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or stereoisomer(s) thereof of formula I where R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, X and R6 are as described herein.
