Abstract

Esters of general formula R1—COOR2, where R1=9 to 23 C alkyl and R2=methyl, ethyl, n-propyl or i-propyl are suitable as coalescing agents, in particular for the production of all types of coatings from an aqueous polymer or latex dispersion.
