Abstract
Embodiments include a converter including a plurality of switching elements connected in series and coupled between power signal lines that receive a first voltage from an external power source. The converter includes at least one capacitance coupled between the power signal lines and coupled to the plurality of switching elements, a first battery and a second battery. The converter includes a resonant circuit coupled to the plurality of switching elements. A switching frequency of the plurality of switching elements is matched to a resonant frequency of the resonant circuit being such that, during a charging mode, the plurality of switching elements, the resonant circuit and the at least one capacitance operate to convert the first voltage into a second voltage that charges the first battery and the second battery.
