Abstract
A process for producing a sintered spraying powder comprising chromium nitride includes producing a powder mixture comprising a first powder and a second powder, and sintering the powder mixture to the sintered spraying powder at a nitrogen partial pressure of >1 bar so as to maintain or increase a chemically bound nitrogen in the sintered spraying powder compared to a chemically bound nitrogen in the first powder mixture. The first powder comprises at least one constituent selected from the group consisting of Cr, CrN and Cr2N. The second powder comprises at least one constituent selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, nickel alloys, cobalt alloys and iron alloys.
