Applicator (2) for applying a cosmetic product to the eyelashes and/or eyebrows, having an applicator member (8), the applicator member (8) having: the core (10) having at least one portion, between the ends of the arms (20), with a non-circular cross section, and the arms (20) being distributed irregularly around the core (10).
