Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a coated cutting tool having a substrate and a coating, wherein the coating includes at least one layer of κ-Al2O3 with a thickness of 1-20 μm deposited by chemical vapour deposition (CVD). A χ-scan from −80° to 80° over the (0 0 6) reflection of the κ-Al2O3 layer shows the strongest peak centered around 0° and the full width half maximum (FWHM) of the peak is <25°.
