Abstract
A computer system collects and processes data related to a series of shipments from a number of sources (e.g., in the form of a set of event streams formed by grouping and/or processing information from respective sources into information to be processed by the computer system). Some of the information received in the event streams is sufficient to enable the computer system to help carriers/drivers and transportation depots detect conditions that will affect a carrier delivery schedule (involving either pick up or delivery at a loading area of a transportation depot) that will likely result in detention. In a configuration where a driver's schedule is available to the system (as a series of events or as one or more entries on an accessible blockchain) and the transportation depot's relevant information is available to the system (as a series of events or as one or more entries on an accessible blockchain), the system can, in response to transportation depot-side trigger signal and carrier-side trigger signals, perform event mapping/analysis to determine what changes, if any, would avoid or reduce detention issues.
