Compounds for use in the textile field, and more particularly the use of compounds of the 4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene family for the manufacture of fluorescent fibers, the fluorescent compound being chosen from those of formula I: Also, processes for producing the fluorescent fibers and also to the uses thereof, notably for the provision of security to products.
