Abstract

A ternary oxide based composite cathode material for a lithium-sulfur battery and a preparation method thereof are provided wherein the composite cathode material includes: sulfur and LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 or LiNixCoyMn1-x-yO2 (0<x<1, 0<y<1, 0<x+y<1), wherein a sulfur content is 50 wt. %-80 wt. %. The host has adsorption and catalytic effects on polar polysulfides, which can fix sulfur and promote electrochemical reactions, thereby preparing lithium-sulfur battery with high capacity and high stability.
