Abstract

A clutch device includes an inner ring, an outer ring and claw members to selectively lock the rings of the clutch device. A first ring among the inner and outer rings has a toothed surface that faces a second ring among the inner and outer rings. The toothed surface includes a plurality of teeth arranged in a circumferential direction to protrude toward the second ring. A given tooth includes a first surface and a second surface that extend substantially radially, and a third surface that extends between the first surface and the second surface. The tooth has a first height at a first end of the third surface adjacent to the first surface and a second height at a second end of the third surface adjacent to the second surface, in which the first height is greater than the second height.
