Abstract

Methods and systems for managing a data processing system are disclosed. A management controller of the data processing system may identify an occurrence of a recovery event for the data processing system that may impair operation of hardware resources of the data processing system. The management controller may request a trusted recovery manager for the data processing system from a remote system via an out-of-band channel. Upon obtaining and validating the trusted recovery manager, the management controller may use the validated trusted recovery manager to perform a recovery process for the data processing system. Impacts of the occurrence of the recovery event on the hardware resources may be managed via the recovery process so that the data processing system is able provide computer-implemented services using the hardware resources.
