Abstract
Embodiments are directed to a method for generating test cases to test a network function (NF) device in a wireless network by an electronic device (100). The method includes receiving, by the electronic device (100), at least one test specification associated with the NF device (200) under test and determining, by the electronic device (100), an intermediate schema of the at least one test specification, where the intermediate schema comprises a message portion and a procedure portion. The method also includes generating, by the electronic device (100), test criteria for packets received by the NF device (200) under test based on the intermediate schema of the at least one test specification and automatically generating, by the electronic device (100), a plurality of test cases based on the test criteria for testing a protocol conformity of the NF device (200).
