Abstract
New amidine compounds of formula (I): ##EQU1## wherein R represents ##SPC1## (R' being H or CH.sub.3) and acid addition salts thereof, are prepared by reacting a nitrile of formula (II): EQU R -- CN (II) wherein R represents ##SPC2## (R' being H or CH.sub.3) with a metal amide or with an alcohol and an acid under anhydrous conditions and the product thus obtained is reacted with ammonia.
