Abstract

Azo dyes of the formula ##SPC1## Where PA1 X stands for the radical of a coupling component of the aminobenzene, hydroxybenzene, aminonaphthalene, hydroxynaphthalene or heterocyclic series or one with a coupling methylene group, PA1 A.sub.n .sup.- for an anion equivalent to K.sub.n .sup.+, PA1 n for 1 to 6, PA1 K.sup.+ for the group ##EQU1## and where the aromatic rings B and/or D may be further substituted. The dyes are useful for dyeing and printing paper (e.g., dyeing in the stock). The dyed paper is fast to light and wet treatments and has good fastness to bleaching, water, alcohol and light.
