Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for sizing cellulose fibers or cellulose fiber-containing materials by using modified starch containing hydrophobic groups having the general formula ##EQU1## wherein R.sub.1 is an organic, hydrophobic hydrocarbon group having 8-40 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl group or has the same meaning as R.sub.1.
