Abstract

An elongated battery cassette for housing batteries on at least one side of a partition plate member is disclosed in which at least one plate member of top and bottom plate members has a plurality of lugs formed at regular intervals for holding the batteries and a pair of front and rear plate members are formed at both ends of the cassette in its lengthwise direction to prevent the cassette from distortion when the batteries are housed in the cassette. The front and rear plate members have formed therein larger and smaller holes corresponding to the positive and negative polarities, through which holes the batteries are connected with external terminals. Accordingly, the battery cassette can be handled as one unit, so that where Ni-Cad. batteries are housed in the cassette, they can be charged as they are, i.e. without removing the batteries from the cassette, and can be easily loaded in an electrical appliance. Further, since no metal is employed in the battery cassette, there is no possibility of corrosion. Electrical appliances employing the battery cassette are disclosed.
