Abstract

Chewing gums having longer lasting sweetness and flavor are prepared from compositions comprising a chewable gum base, flavor, sweetener in an amount sufficient to impart normally accepted sweetness to the gum, L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl esters in an amount effective to produce longer lasting sweetness and flavor. The chewing gums may be either sugarcontaining or sugarless.
