Abstract
An upright column, rising from a base provided with a heel stop for a person standing thereon, carries five slides supporting respective feelers engageable with the body of that person for ascertaining body dimensions and posture. The feeler on the top slide measures the person's height. The next-highest slide carries two horizontally swingable and jointly tiltable feeler heads making three-point contact with the person's shoulders. The third slide carries a kyphosis feeler engaging an upper part of the spine. The fourth slide carries a lordosis feeler engageable with a lower part of the spine, the two last-mentioned feelers being interconnected by a linkage determining the degree of spinal curvature in the plane of symmetry of the body. The lowermost slide carries two feeler arms which are tiltable and relatively displaceable in a vertical plane on a swingable bar to determine the width and attitude of the pelvis. An ancillary feeler plate, mounted on a horizontally shiftable member supporting the feeler heads on the second slide, is engageable with the shoulder blades to establish a reference position for the shoulder measurements, this plate having a slot to accommodate the kyph…
