Abstract

Halogenated 4-trifluoromethyl-diphenyl-ether compounds of the formula ##SPC1## In which PA1 R.sup.1 is alkylthio of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkylsulfinyl or alkylsulfonyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or aminothiocarbonyl; PA1 R.sup.2 is hydrogen or methyl; PA1 X.sup.1 is halogen; and PA1 X.sup.2 is hydrogen or halogen; Are outstandingly effective as herbicides, particularly as selective herbicides.
