Abstract
A compound of the formula EQU R--NH--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NH--CH.sub.2 --(CHOH).sub.m --CH.sub.2 OH in which R is an alkyl of 8 to 24 carbon atoms, n is an integer from 2 to 6, and m is an integer from 3 to 4; and a one step process for washing and softening textiles using this compound.
