Abstract

Catalysts obtained from PA1 A. a reaction product of 1 mol tungsten hexachloride with from 1 to 4 mols of a mixture of 2-chloroethanol and 2,2,2-trichloroethanol in a molar ratio of from 1 : 3 to 3 : 1; and PA1 B. from 1 to 20 mol, per mol of tungsten in component (A), of an organometallic aluminium for disproportionation and metathesis of olefin and for ring opening polymerizaton of cyclic olefins.
