Abstract
Coated glass fabric of improved flex life is provided, the coating on the fabric comprising (a) unsintered polytetrafluoroethylene having a specific melt viscosity of at least 1 .times. 10.sup.9 poises at 380.degree.C. and (b) a condensation product of a polyhydrolyzable compound which is a compound of tetravalent titanium, zirconium, or tin. The coating can also contain a water repellent additive which prevents water from soaking into the fabric. The coating is present on the glass fabric either as a blend of (a) and (b) or as a basecoat of (b) and topcoat of (a) on the glass fabric. The blend coating can be obtained by applying a dispersion of (a) which contains (b) still in the polyhydrolyzable state, and optionally, the water repellent additive, to the fabric, followed by drying without sintering the polytetrafluoroethylene.
