Abstract

New ultraviolet light-absorbing compounds of the formula ##SPC1## In which PA1 R.sub.1 is a substituent, e.g. alkyl, PA1 R.sub.2 is a substituent, e.g. alkyl, PA1 R.sub.3 is hydrogen or a substituents, e.g. alkyl, PA1 n is 1, 2 or 3, and PA1 R is an n-valent, optionally substituted benzene radical, or a 1- or 2-valent naphthalene or heterocyclic radical, Which are producible by known processes. Such compounds are useful as stabilizers of organic materials, particularly plastics materials, against the degrading action of ultraviolet light and can be either applied as a coating on the organic material, or incorporated therein.
