Abstract

Basic azo dyes free from sulphonic acid groups of the formula ##EQU1## in which R signifies an alkyl or alkenyl radical, R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 independently signify hydrogen, hydroxyl, halogen, an alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, amino or alkylthio radical, PA1 R.sub.2 signifies hydrogen, an alkyl, aryl or cycloalkyl radical, PA1 R.sub.4 signifies the radical of a coupling component of the aliphatic, benzene, naphthalene or heterocyclic series, and PA1 A.sup.- signifies an organic or inorganic anion, Which compounds are useful for dyeing synthetic materials, leather and paper and for pigmenting plastics.
