Abstract
A mixture comprising at least one binder for a refractory aggregate which binder is a halogen-containing complex phosphate of aluminium containing one or more chemically-bound molecules of water and/or one or more chemically-bound oxygen-containing organic molecules, and at least one inhibitor which is an acetylenic alcohol having the structure EQU HC.tbd.C - CR.sub.1 R.sub.2 - (Y).sub.n OH 1. where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, are selected from hydrogen atoms and organic groups, Y is a divalent organic group, and n is an integer in the range 2 to 30.
