Abstract

It has been found that a linear aliphatic amine polymer obtained from the reaction of a linear aliphatic polyamine and an epihalohydrin results in an acid zinc electroplating bath brightener. Additionally, when dissolved in an aqueous, acid zinc electroplating bath, the linear aliphatic amine polymer reaction product acts synergistically with polyoxyethylene condensates and aromatic aldehydes and ketones to provide extremely bright electrodeposits of zinc.
