Abstract
A process for the use of .omega.-Aminocarboxylic acid amides of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon residue having 10 to 14 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, methyl, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 OH, --CH.sub.2 --CHOH--CH.sub.3 and --CH.sub.2 --CHOH--CH.sub.2 OH, and m and n are integers from 1 to 10, to prevent the growth of microorganisms including compositions of phosphonate sequestering agents and .omega.-aminocarboxylic acid amides for use in industrial water treatment.
