Abstract
A lubricating oil additive composition which imparts improved oxidation properties, particularly for crankcase lubricants, comprises an antioxidant selected from sterically hindered phenols or thiophenols, or aromatic amines, and mixtures thereof, and an oil-soluble antimony compound of the formula EQU (R).sub.3 Sb or (R).sub.3 Sb .fwdarw. X wherein each R is independently hydrocarbyl and X is oxygen or sulfur. Lubricating oil compositions containing this additive composition are also disclosed.
