Abstract

This invention relates to new derivatives of pyridine having hypo-uricemic or hypolipemic properties. The new derivatives of pyridine may be represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## in which X represents an oxy or thio group, R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, a group of the formula R.sub.3 NHCO (II), wherein R.sub.3 represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, cycloalkyl or possibly substituted phenyl group, or a group of the formula R.sub.4 --CO (III) in which R.sub.4 represents a C.sub.1- C.sub.4 -alkyl group or a possibly substituted phenyl group, and R', R" and R'" represent each a possible substituent selected from the group comprising the halogens, the trifluoromethyl and the C.sub.1- C.sub.4 alkyl groups.
