Abstract

New 6-sec.-butyl-1,2,4-triazin-5(4H)-one compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each hydrogen, or PA1 R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together represent alkylidene or substituted alkylidene of the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.3 is hydrogen, alkyl or cycloalkyl, and R.sup.4 is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, aralkyl, aralkenyl, optionally substituted aryl or an optionally substituted heterocyclic radical, or PA1 R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together with the carbon atom shown from a 5-membered to 7-membered ring, and PA1 Y is sulfur, NH or NCH.sub.3 ; are outstandingly active herbicides.
