Abstract

A device for clamping and stopping elongated objects. The device encompasses a passage adapted to receive at least a section of an elongated object to be stopped. Two jaws are located on both sides of this passage and are associated with a mounting arrangement to displace the jaws toward and away from the section for insertion of the elongated object and to clamp and release it. The device is a cable stopper in which the jaws catch and stop a cable led through the passage.
