Abstract

Compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is chlorine or bromine; PA1 R.sub.1 is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine; PA1 R.sub.2 is isopropyl; tert.butyl; tert.pentyl; mono-, di- or tri-hydroxy-substituted branched alkyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms; cyclohexyl; or hydroxycyclohexyl; and PA1 R.sub.3 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or, when R.sub.2 is other than cyclohexyl, also hydrogen; And non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts thereof; the compounds as well as their salts are useful as secretolytics, antitussives, anti-ulcerogenics and stimulants for the production of the surfactant or anti-atelectasis factor of the alveoli.
