Abstract
The present invention relates to certain indane derivatives of general formula ##STR1## in which: X represents a hydrogen or halogen atom; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be identical or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group containing 3 to 7 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms; and Y represents --CH.sub.2 OH or a group of formula --COOR.sub.4 in which R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, 1/v(M) where M is a metal of valency v, or a group of formula EQU --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 wherein n is an integer of 1 to 5 and R.sub.5 and R.sub.6, which may be identical or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group containing 3 to 7 carbon atoms, an aryl group or an aralkyl group, or R.sub.5 and R.sub.6, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, form an N-heterocyclic group with 5 to 7 ring members, which heterocyclic group optionally contains a second hetero-atom, and their pharmaceutically acceptable addition salts, and to processes for their preparation.
