Abstract
A perfluorolactone having the formula ##STR1## wherein n is an integer of 2 to 4, is produced by reacting a fluoro compound having the formula EQU I(CF.sub.2).sub.n COX wherein n is an integer of 2 to 4 and X represents a halogen atom, --OR or --NR.sup.1 R.sup.2, and R, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 respectively represent hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 - C.sub.10 alkyl group, with fuming sulfuric acid.
