Abstract

An FM receiver and transmitter apparatus is disclosed which is of the superheterodyne type and is capable of scanning and receiving a plurality of channels on a plurality of frequency bands as well as transmitting on a plurality of channels. The receiver incorporates a phase-locked-loop frequency synthesizing means for generating bearing signals for use in tuning specific channels and also incorporates processing means for controlling the freqency synthesizing means and the overall receiver operation. The processing means also controls the frequency synthesizing means for transmitting on a plurality of channels. The receiver includes a keyboard and a display for viewing information during the operation of the receiver. A modification of the apparatus has the processing means controlling a voltage controlled oscillator for generating the various frequencies for the channels.
