Abstract
A process for the recovery of bacitracin from a fermented beer containing it comprising the steps of: PA1 A. screening the fermented beer through a 100-150 mesh screen, PA1 B. adjusting the pH of the fermented beer to about 7.5 to about 8.7, PA1 C. ultrafiltering the fermented beer in an ultrafilter having a molecular weight cut off of from 30,000 to 80,000, and PA1 D. collecting and holding the bacitracin containing permeate at a temperature of less than 30.degree. C.
