Abstract
Vinylsulphone compounds of the general formula EQU [CH.sub.2 =CHSO.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 (CONH).sub.x (CH.sub.2).sub.3 ].sub.2 --O(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.y --, wherein x is 1 or 2 and y is 0 or an integer of 1 to 100 are provided. These compounds are useful as cross-linking agents for hydrophilic colloids, especially for gelatin which is in the form of layers of photographic materials.
