Indan-5-yl-N-methylcarbamic acid esters of the formula ##STR1## in which R represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, PA1 R.sup.1 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, PA1 R.sup.2 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, PA1 R.sup.3 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl and PA1 R.sup.4 represents hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, Which possess arthropodicidal and fungicidal properties.
