Abstract
A hydraulic drive mechanism for a chucking device on a workpiece spindle on a gear hobbing machine. A chucking piston is movable back-and-forth in the chucking cylinder and rotates with the workpiece spindle. Pressure medium is fed through a nonrotating supply member, for example, a connecting sleeve. The chucking cylinder is secured to the face plate so that the cylinder end plate which seals off the connecting piece forms a planar surface with the surface of the face plate. Pressure medium is supplied to the chucking cylinder through flexible hoses.
