Abstract

An electrode pad, an electrical lead wire connector, and an electrode system composed of the pad and connector which exhibits a DC offset of about 1mV, an AC impedance of less than 100.OMEGA., and a stable rectification of less than 0.2mV. The electrode pad of the system, for attachment to the skin for detecting biological or physiological electrical potentials, includes an electrically non-conductive disc, an electrolyte saturated porous matrix in the disc and integral provision for attaching an electrical connector, the pad having no metal components. The electrical connector has an electrically conductive probe at one end composed of a non-conductive plastic with a conductive silver and silver chloride coating thereover.
