Abstract

It is disclosed that water soluble carboxyalkoxy succinate tetrahydrate salt can be precipitated in high purity from alcohol-water solvent systems when operating at temperatures from about 50.degree. C to about 100.degree. C using seed crystals of either tetrahydrate or pentahydrate form or a mixture thereof. Useful temperatures are from about 45.degree. to about 75.degree. C. Preferred temperatures are above about 55.degree. C up to about 65.degree. C where tetrahydrate product is obtainable even where pentahydrate seed is used.
