Abstract

Novel silane derivatives having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein: (A) R is a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m --OR.sup.6 --; PA1 (b) each of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is independently alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl, a group of the formula --OR.sup.3 or a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m --OR.sup.6 --; PA1 (c) R.sup.3 is a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m -- or a group of the formula: ##STR2## (D) R.sup.4 is alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl; (E) R.sup.5 is alkylene; PA1 (f) R.sup.6 is alkylene; PA1 (g) m is zero or an integer; PA1 (h) each of R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 is independently alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl, a group of the formula --OR.sup.9 or a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m --OR.sup.6 --; and PA1 (i) R.sup.9 is a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m --. Also disclosed are hydraulic fluids containing the novel compounds.
