Abstract

This invention relates to .alpha.-(branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkyl)naphthaleneacetic acids and a method for the control of undesirable plant species therewith. The invention also relates to a method for the preparation of the compounds. PAC CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION Our copending application Ser. No. 673,244 filed of even date, now U.S. Pat. No. 4,046,799, discloses the use of the compounds of this invention as intermediates for the manufacture of substituted-benzyl .alpha.-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl-2-naphthaleneacetate insecticides.
