Abstract

8-Azapurin-6-one derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.8 represents alkoxy of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and R.sup.9 represents cyano, or a group of the formula V, VI, VII, VIII or IX indicated below: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.10, R.sub.13 and R.sup.14 each represents cyano, or alkanoyl or alkoxycarbonyl of from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, R.sup.11 represents hydrogen, cyano, or alkanoyl or alkoxycarbonyl of from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, R.sup.12 represents hydrogen or, when R.sup.11 represents hydrogen, R.sup.12 represents alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms or alkoxycarbonyl of from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or the pair of symbols R.sup.11 and R.sup.12 form together an alkylene chain of the formula --(C.sub.q H.sub.2q)-- wherein q is an integer from 3 to 6, R.sup.15 and R.sup.16 each represents hydrogen or alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and Y.sup.1 represents oxygen or sulphur, are new compounds possessing pharmacological properties, in particular properties of value in the treatment of respiratory disorders such as allergic bronchial asthma.
