Abstract
The material H(UO.sub.2)XO.sub.4.nH.sub.2 O, where X is P, As or I(OH).sub.2, conducts protons and when pressed under steadily increasing pressure (subsequently gradually released) may find use as a component of a battery, fuel cell, electrochromic cell, water vapor pressure meter or the like.
