Abstract
A softening agent is provided which contains PA0 (a) a diester/amine adduct of the formula ##STR1## in which X.sub.1, X.sub.2 and X.sub.3 are --H, 1-4 C alkyl, 2-4 C hydroxyalkyl or hydroxyhalogenalkyl or ##STR2## Y.sub.1 is 1-4 C alkyl or ##STR3## R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are 12-22 C alkyl or alkenyl, PA0 A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 are 2-3 C alkylene or 2-hydroxy-n-propylene PA0 m, s, s' and s" are 1 or 2 and PA0 n is 1, 2, 3 or 4, and PA0 (b) a quaternary ammonium salt of the formula ##STR4## in which Q.sub.1 and T.sub.2 are --H, 1-8 C alkyl or 2-8 C alkenyl, PA0 Q.sub.2 is 1-8 C alkyl or 2-8 C alkenyl, PA0 Q.sub.3, T.sub.1 and T.sub.3 are 8-30 C alkyl or alkenyl, PA0 Q.sub.4 is 1-30 C alkyl or 2-30 C alkenyl and PA0 D.sub.1.sup..crclbar. and E.sub.1.sup..crclbar. are an anion imparting water-solubility or water-dispersability. These softening agent are valuable for use as after-rinse softeners and hair-conditioners.
