Abstract
Expandable particles of a styrene polymer containing therein 3 to 8% by weight of a blowing agent and having a particle size of 0.8 to 0.25 mm. in diameter, or their pre-expanded particles, which comprises an ester of sucrose represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkanoyl group having 6 to 22 carbon atoms or an alkenoyl group having 6 to 22 carbon atoms; and all of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are not hydrogen atoms at the same time, or its derivative, said ester of sucrose or its derivative being coated on the surface of said particles.
